About the Role

As an Account Specialist at OpenRoad Financial Services (ORFS), you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of clients, managing accounts, and assessing risk on freight bills. As the first point of contact for our clients, you will take the initiative in educating clients on other services we provide that will help grow their business, including the promotion and cross-selling of new services or products. Our top performers regularly go above and beyond what is required of them to add value for our clients – such as creating new business solutions, championing process improvements, or personalizing communications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Account Managers to ensure their daily tasks are getting done and help answer questions when needed
  • Manage a portfolio of clients by receiving and processing invoices and other documents
  • Minimize risk by verifying the documents
  • Improve cash flow by ensuring the timely payments of customer balances (collections)
  • Daily fund and maintain clients’ accounts receivable (payment status)
  • Keep the client moving from start to finish, satisfying the clients’ needs for constant cash flow
  • Check new customer credit to evaluate worthiness of customer’s ability to pay
  • Monitor current customers and evaluate credit that has been established
  • Daily process and maintain Notice of Assignments for clients’ customers
  • Process and maintain originals received from clients and forward them to appropriate customers when requested
  • Advocate for our clients, treat and respond to the client’s customers in a professional manner
  • Develop and maintain friendly and professional rapport with employees and customers
